Brief e-mail messages
Dilectissime Leo,
Sicut aliquis poeta olim dixit, tempus fugit atque valetudo minuit. Nihil novi
in illa sententia; tamen quia ad amicum meum illustre carumque pertinet, celat sententia tristitiam quamdam.
Quomodo fit?

Archbishop Leo's birthday.
Sun, 12 Sep 2004 23:04:16 -0400
Through Dr. Stidsen we have had several occasions to spend time with
Archbishop and have always been touched by his kindness and thoughtfulness.
To have such a link with India is important to us.
Thank you, God, for giving us this man.
Continue to bless him with light, laughter and Your love.
May these wishes be a reflection to our friend of how many lives he has
touched and inspired.
Sincerely,
Anne and Jessica Vallentin and all of our family.

Dear Archbishop Leo,
As you celebrate your 75 th birthday, I send you congratulations and very best wishes for good health, energy, and spirit for all the endeavours that are important to you at this time in your life.
You are rich in so many ways and it seems to me that you have lived and are living your rich life according to this scripture passage.
As for those in the present age who are rich,
Command them not to be haughty
or set their hopes
on the uncertainty of riches
but rather on God
who richly provides us with everything for enjoyment.
They are to do good,
to be rich in good works,
generous and ready to share,
thus storing up for themselves the treasure
of a good foundation for the future,
so that they may take hold of the life
that really is life.
I Timothy 6:19Auguri!

Dear Archbishop D'Souza,
my colleagues and I send our congratulations and best wishes to your birthday from
the Pleisterschule at Münster/Germany which you visited about 15 years ago. At that
time I was a student-teacher and I had the task to translate your English speech
for the pupils, now I am the director of the school.

Dear Bishop Bhai,
Tomorrow is your birthday. I rejoice with you and thank God for you. Your life
has been a dear, inspiring and encouraging presence for me.
Happy Birthday ,dear Bishop Bhai. Know that you are remembered with affection in
my prayers.
I was in Africa visiting our East Africa Province : Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
And now I am planning to visit our communities in Chad and Cameroun in the month
of February.
I am aware that you are not keeping very good health. But surely the love, prayers
and concern of so many people whom you have served over the years will be very supportive
and strengthening for you in these moments.
Have a great day. Let it be very special because you are very special and we all
love you.

Dear Leobard,
Congratulations on this occasion of your birthday. I hope your health is
continuing to improve.
Thanks for the friendship of those special years in Rome long ago. You
helped me stay sane and to keep things in perspective.
I have enjoyed dipping into your website. I have been wonderfully
encouraged by what you have written. I have always known that you were a
wise man, and we had shared a few conversations over the years, which I have
appreciated. However, until the website, I had never read anything you had
written nor heard any of your speeches, etc.. Your thoughts and attitudes
are great. I am so glad you have been able to achieve what you have managed
so far. May you long continue to conscientise, energise and inspire many
more!
Ad multos annos!
God bless,
John
