Comment j’ai appris à connaître Leo ?
En fait, tout a commencé quand j’avais 21 ans. J’étais en dernière année d’études supérieures, et j’avais décidé avec une amie (Audrey Dubois) de partir pour quelques mois à l’étranger dès que j’avais fini mes études. Notre but était d’aller travailler dans un pays étranger, tout en découvrant une autre culture. On voulait que l’expérience soit enrichissante. Quand j’en ai parlé à mes parents, ils m’ont conseillé de me mettre en contact avec Leo.
Quand j’ai expliqué nos projets à Leo, il m’a proposé la chose suivante : travailler dans une école avec des handicapés.
Nous n’avons pas hésité 1 seconde…. On était partantes !
C’est là que Leo s’est occupé de notre séjour a Jeevoday (une école à Nagpur pour enfants handicapés). J’y ai passé les 3 plus beaux mois de ma vie. Ce fût une expérience inoubliable. Je n’oublierai jamais mon séjour là-bas. Mon séjour à Nagpur m’a ouvert l’esprit. En quelques mois j’ai vu des choses et vécu des moments inoubliables. Je repense par exemple encore souvent de la journée qu’on a passée à Kamptee, où nous avons eu toute une histoire avec les militaires car nous n’avions pas nos passeports sur nous. Ce dont je me souviens également comme si c’était hier, c’est de la fois où le soir nous avions des dizaines de grenouilles sur la terrasse. Ou de la fois où Leo est venu nous « sauver » qu and il y avait une grenouille dans la salle de bain. Mais en soi c’était génial ! Je n’oublierai jamais ce que j’ai fait, vu et vécu là-bas. C’était tellement fantastique que j’ai quitté Nagpur avec un gros pincement au cœur.
Je n’oublierai jamais mon séjour à Nagpur. Ce fût la plus belle expérience de ma vie et je ne regretterai jamais d’avoir passé 3 mois là-bas.
Si nous avons pu réaliser ce rêve, c’est grâce à Leo. C’est pourquoi je tiens encore à le remercier même si il y a déjà quelques années de ça, le souvenir de mon séjour à Nagpur restera gravé dans ma mémoire à jamais !

How did I get to know Leo?
It all began when I was 21 years old. I was in the last year of my advanced studies and had decided with a friend (Audrey Dubois) to go to a foreign country for a few months as soon as I finished my studies. Our goal was to go work in a foreign country, getting to know a foreign culture in the process. We wanted the experience to be enriching. When I talked about it with my parents, they advised me to contact Leo.
When I explained our plan to Leo, he suggested the following: working in a school with the disabled.
We didn’t hesitate for one second: we were on our way!
That’s when Leo arranged our stay at Jeevoday (a school in Nagpur for disabled children). I spent the three most beautiful months of my life there. It was an unforgettable experience. I will never forget my stay there. My stay in Nagpur opened my spirit. In a few months I saw and experienced unforgettable moments. For example, I still think of the day we spent at Kamptee, where we had a whole incident with the military because we didn’t have our passports with us. What I also remember as if it were yesterday is the evening we had dozens of frogs on the terrace. Or the time Leo came to “save” us and there was a frog in the bathroom. But it was all great fun. I will never forget what I did, saw and experienced there. It was so fantastic that I left Nagpur with a heavy heart.
I will never forget my stay in Nagpur. It was the most beautiful experience of my life and I will never regret spending three months there.
It was thanks to Leo that we were able to realize this dream. That’s why I want to thank him again: even if it occured a few years ago, the memory of Nagpur will be engraved on my memory forever!
