History of GearJunkie
In 2002, Minneapolis-based journalist Stephen Regenold started “The Gear Junkie” as a nationally-syndicated newspaper column. A climber and competitive endurance athlete, Regenold is the consummate outdoorsman. He continues to travel the world to test gear and cover fascinating people and places in the world outdoors.

Regenold’s popular column became a digital publication in 2006 and has evolved into one of the most respected online outlets in the outdoor industry. Today GearJunkie.com employs editors, writers, videographers, and project and sales teams at its Minneapolis headquarters and editorial office in Denver.
